Undergraduate Research

The SCiM Laboratory offers guided research opportunities for talented CEE undergraduate students who wish to experience the challenges and rewards of scientific discovery early in their academic careers.

About Our Projects

Our undergraduate research positions are shaped by current project needs and available resources. Because we receive a high volume of inquiries, we carefully select curious, driven students whose interests align closely with our ongoing work. Once on board, undergraduate researchers are typically co-supervised by postdoctoral scientists and PhD students, ensuring direct mentorship and hands-on guidance.

How to Get Involved

Undergraduate students generally in junior and senior years can propose and get involved in research projects at SCiM within the Independent Study/Research framework (CE 199) of the Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) department.

If you are interested in joining our research activities, please reach out to Prof. Zunino to express your interest.
