Dr. Hyunuk Kang

Postdoctoral scientist

Hyunuk Kang obtained his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Seoul National University in August 2024 and his B.S. in Architectural Engineering from Kwangwoon University in February 2019. From September 2024 to August 2025, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Construction and Environmental Engineering at Seoul National University. Since October 2025, he has been conducting research as a postdoctoral scientist at the University of California, Berkeley. His research mainly focuses on the effects of alkanolamine grinding agents on cementitious materials, grounded in an understanding of Cement Chemistry. He also has extensive experience developing customized grinding agents for underutilized industrial by-products, such as waste glass and coal bottom ash, using advanced analytical methods.

    Dr. Lenka Scheinherrová

    Fulbright Fellow – Scientist

Dr. Lenka Scheinherrová is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Materials Engineering and Chemistry at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague and a current Fulbright-Masaryk Scholar. Her research focuses on sustainable cement-based materials, particularly improving the early hydration and strength of low-carbon systems such as Limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC3). At UC Berkeley, she will collaborate with Prof. Franco Zunino in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (Oct 2025 – Mar 2026) to explore innovative additives and particle size optimization strategies to advance low-carbon cement technologies.
